Cyclops, Pirates, Daleks --- all villains right? Sure you get the cool pirates like Jack Sparrow, or the nice cyclopses like Leela (of Futurama) or Mike (of Monsters Inc), but generally these groups are all considered pretty mean, brutal and well villainous. What if there was a cause for all this anger and brutality? I think there might be. Notice how these 3 groups are all occularly impaired? Having recent eye surgery myself I've come to understand how important having two eyes is. I've been bumping into things, I've been knocking stuff over, dropping things -- not to mention the searing pain in my recovering eye. All and all its pretty exasperating! Have I been crankier lately? You bet! You can ask any of the people who still talk to me. I've been quick to anger, and have pretty much no patience. Maybe this is where a life of monocular vision leads you. Maybe pirates rob people because they got fired from knocking over the display case at the China Shop they worked at. Maybe the cyclops was sick of getting funny looks at the MTO so went to go live in a cave and eat anyone who dared cross his path. Maybe the Daleks aren't the most evil race in the universe after all, maybe they're just frustrated and tired of the strain of only seeing out of one eye(stalk). I say -- give these poor misunderstood creatures a break, sure they're angry, but close one of your eyes for a couple of days, and see how cheerful you are. Cut us some slack, and let us rob you, eat your children, or destroy your planet.
